"Ohwa" Labay Cook
The first time I talked to Ohwa over the phone since high school was last June
30, 1999 when she and her family came over for a business/pleasure trip to USA.
She was still very much the same old Ohwa we know - bubbly, full of humor
and wit. Bungisngisan pa rin kamī while chatting about our good old days.
It was such an exciting and pleasant phone conversation. We haven't talked
since high school. I guess it's hard to replace long and old friends.
Peter (Ohwa's husband) writes about their kids:
Jefferey Ronald Cook born 27/12/86...makes him almost 13 years. Very
quiet, bright though motivation is on the low side. Likes art, music,
reading, travel. Hates dogs, green peas(!) and cutting his fingernails.
A very caring, polite trustworthy young man. Wants to be a cartoon
animator when he grows up. Pogi as the father.
Benjamin Joseph Cook born (?) 4/3/93 I think. 6 and a half years old.
Very noisy (malicott). Loves sport, physical activities, dancing, swimming
and eating candy. Dislikes sleeping, eating and immobility. Has
loads of character. Wants to do a whole bunch of stuff when he grows up.
Guwapo as the father.
There isn't one (daughter), but if there was she would be Sunshine Cook, dark
skinned, big brown eyes and as maganda as the mother........
Marilyn Reyes Rivera
Prior to moving to Houston, Texas in June 1999, Marilyn Reyes Rivera and Joe
with their kids used to live in Chicago where she finished a second degree at
Revens Wood School of Nursing on 1996. She works at Bencor Northwest
Hospital. Malyn migrated to USA in 1988 and is also a graduate of AB
Psychology at Luzonian University.
Eleanora "Ellen" Argosino Manio
Ellenstarted working with Carnation/Nestle Company in July 1987. She
has worked in various capacities in the financials and accounting departments of
the company. Currently an Export Sales Specialist, Foreign Trade
Department, she has been enjoying the benefits and earned enormous training and
experiences in such a highly diversified environment.
She married Jun Manio and is blessed with two kids, Sarah and Joey. I had
the chance to visit Ellen last August 1998 in Rowland Heights (LA) and indeed
she is doing well, happy, and her schedule is full of social activities.
But the most important thought of that visit was the hospitality and the warm
gestures and reception accorded to me and my family. It wasn't only Ellen
who greeted and received us but also her two brothers and sister who were all
QPHS graduates. It was indeed another renewed friendship after 25 years
(and from that time on nag-eemailan na kami... another successful internet
story).
